Singapore Wind Symphony Youth Winds The Singapore Wind Symphony Youth Winds (SWS Youth Winds) started off as a spin off from its mother ensemble, the Singapore Wind Symphony (SWS) in November 2003. Since then, the youth winds has grown greatly in strength and experience. Coming from diverse backgrounds, the musicians build strong bonds to work hard and play hard together. Not wanting to be "just another youth ensemble", SWS Youth Winds is a place where young musicians share ideas and learn from each other. Faced with a large number of challenging band repertoire, the musicians'senses are constantly tickled and with that, comes great improvement and exposure. The SWS Youth Winds was also given the opportunity to experience being under various conductors from all over, as well as participating in occasional combined rehearsals with the Singapore Wind Symphony. Above all, SWS Youth Winds has also been constantly nurturing young musicians, with many of them making the grade and stepping up to the main band. In years to come, the Singapore Wind Symphony Youth Winds strive to grow musically as well as continue its promotion for developing music in the youths in Singapore.
